Talk Abstract: Solving parking problems with Deep Learning.
Parkopedia allows drivers to find the closest parking to their destination, its cost and whether the space is available. The talk will show two examples on how Deep Learning Networks can be applied to extend parking coverage and improve availability prediction models.

Bio: Valentina Bono PhD is a Data Scientist (Computer Vision) at Parkopedia; the world’s leading parking service provider. Parkopedia provides information on over 60 million parking spaces in 75 countries and can be accessed online, as a mobile app or inside the car navigation systems of some of the world’s most recognized car brands. Based out of Parkopedia’s London, UK, office, Valentina’s work includes automatically processing satellite and street images to help identify parking restrictions and signs. Valentina joined Parkopedia’s research team in 2017 and holds a Master’s Degree in Bioengineering & Biomedical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Biomedical Signal processing).
